Resilient Roots Subgrant Competition: Supporting Environmental Initiatives in War-Affected Regions of Ukraine

The German non-governmental organisation Austausch e.V., in partnership with the charity organization GreenRoots Hub and supported by Brot für die Welt, is launching an open call for subgrants for Ukrainian civil society organisations.

The goal of the competition is to support local initiatives working on environmental recovery and climate adaptation in regions affected by the war.

🫂 Eligible applicants (registered in Ukraine):

• civic associations

• non-governmental organisations

• charitable foundations

Priority will be given to initiatives working in frontline communities, as well as women-led and/or IDP-led organisations.

Projects may focus on:

🌱 environmental education
🌱 restoration of forests and ecosystems
🌱 soil restoration
🌱 protection or restoration of water resources
🌱 responses to the environmental consequences of war
🌱 climate change adaptation

Geography: projects must be implemented in the following regions of Ukraine –
Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions.

❇️ Funding: up to €16,000 per project
⏳ Project duration: up to 8 months

In addition to financial support, selected organisations will receive mentoring and expert support through GreenRoots Hub in Dnipro.
