We have opened the GreenRoots Hub in Dnipro

🌿 We have opened the GreenRoots Hub in Dnipro – a space to support and develop environmental initiatives in frontline regions of Ukraine. It is a place for meetings, learning, exchange of experience, and co-creating solutions for environmental recovery, water resource management, and community development.

👉 And right at the launch of the hub, we are opening opportunities for action: 📣 the Resilient Roots sub-grant competition is open until April 7, supporting environmental initiatives in war-affected regions of Ukraine. Up to €16,000 is available to bring your idea to life. We want ideas that emerge within communities to receive the resources they need for implementation – this is exactly why this programme was created. We invite civil society organisations to apply and implement their projects together with us. More details here:

“On the fifth year of resisting Russia’s full-scale aggression, Ukrainians have shown the world what true resilience means – how to keep a country and its civil society alive against all odds. Through this project and this hub, we aim to support the people and initiatives doing this work – and help them build a better, greener Ukraine,” – Igor Mitchnik, Executive Director of AUSTAUSCH e.V.

As part of the opening, together with partners and experts, we discussed the role of civil society initiatives in Ukraine’s recovery and the potential of green reconstruction.

🙏 We thank everyone who joined us that day, both offline and online: Mykyta Prodanyets (Save Peace UA), Anastasiia Bondarenko (AUSTAUSCH e.V.), Diana Shevelova (GreenRoots Hub), Anna Ackermann (International Institute for Sustainable Development / Ecoaction), Kapitalina Pasikova (Civil Society Center “Drukarnia”), Oleksandr Hrechka (NGO “Rozumna Pererobka” / Underground Dnipro), as well as all participants, partners, and friends who took part in the opening 💚
