Assistant Financial Management (Student)

Are you interested in gaining insights into the daily work of a Berlin-based NGO and participating in international projects between Germany and Eastern European countries? Austausch is a Berlin-based NGO actively contributing to open and peaceful dialogue between Germany and Eastern European countries since 1992. We collaborate with NGOs, governmental institutions, and experts in Eastern European countries, implementing projects in areas such as civic education, human rights, inclusion, environmental protection, media, youth and social work, conflict resolution, and more.
We place great emphasis on providing good support to our staff and offer competent guidance in the financial area through our Finance Director.

  • Support in project accounting as well as documentation and verification of receipts;
  • Support the project management in the preparation of interim and final reports to the funders of the above-mentioned projects;
  • Participation in communication with funders, cooperation partners, and other stakeholders;
  • Loose involvement in the conceptual development of projects and fundraising;
  • Participation, if financial matters are involved, in the substantive and technical preparation, implementation, and follow-up of project activities in Central Asia;
  • General project-related administrative tasks.

  • The remuneration is based on our in-house tariff and, depending on qualifications, ranges from a monthly gross salary of €1,080 to €1,300.
  • 15 vacation days per calendar year (with a 2.5-day week) and additional days off according to the applicable company agreements as well as
  • a conveniently located workplace in Wedding, Berlin.
  • Interest in current societal developments in various countries of Central and Eastern Europe,
  • interest in working for an internationally operating NGO,
  • proficiency in common office programs,
  • reliability, accuracy, teamwork,
  • some prior experience in project work is desirable,
  • experience with administrative processes,
  • good time management, a high degree of self-organization, responsibility, and diligence,
  • willingness to work closely and think along in a small team,
  • knowledge of the Russian language is advantageous,
  • interest in operational project management (learning to create budget plans and project documents),
  • a valid certificate of enrollment.
