Internship for students in the INKuLtur-Program

Are you passionate about diversity and empowering the rights of people with disabilities? Do you want to contribute to breaking down barriers and enabling fair societal participation? Are you interested in experiencing the daily work of a Berlin-based NGO and participating in international projects between Germany and Eastern European countries? Then you’re in the right place!

Austausch is a Berlin-based NGO actively contributing to open and peaceful dialogue between Germany and Eastern European countries since 1992. We collaborate with NGOs, governmental institutions, and experts in Eastern European countries, implementing projects in areas such as civic education, human rights, inclusion, environmental protection, media, youth and social work, conflict resolution, and more.

Our international INKuLtur-Program has been working since 2018 to enable people with disabilities in Eastern European countries and Germany to have equal participation in societal life. More information about the inclusion program INKuLtur is available here: www.inkultur.org.

  • Assisting in the preparation and execution of project activities and events,
  • supporting in project reports and accounting tasks,
  • assisting in public relations, such as creating content for social media channels, managing the program website, etc.,
  • conducting research on project-related topics,
  • translating documents, texts, or articles (as needed),
  • writing minutes of meetings,
  • written and verbal communication with project partners in German, English, and potentially other languages (as needed).
  • Meaningful work in a long-established organization,
  • a diverse and international work environment,
  • collaboration with a motivated, dynamic, professional, and friendly team,
  • flexible working hours,
  • space for your own ideas and engagement,
  • monthly compensation of 520,- Euros (for full-time 40h/week),
  • a conveniently located workplace in Wedding, Berlin.
  • Interest in current societal developments and the inclusion of people with disabilities,
  • interest in working in an NGO,
  • proficiency in common office programs,
  • reliability, accuracy, teamwork,
  • very good German and good English skills, knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian language is advantageous,
  • some prior experience in project work is desirable,
  • valid certificate of enrolment for the entire internship period (mandatory).

  • Johannes Melcher

    After years of work in the political sphere, encompassing roles as a press spokesperson, strategic communication, and political consultancy, Johannes moved to Kyiv, Ukraine in 2021. Now he is responsible for public relations at Austausch.
