JOB: IT WORKING STUDENT

Start: From 01.07.2025 · Fixed-term for 12 months with the option to extend
Location: Berlin (office presence required, partial home office possible by agreement)
Scope: 20 hours per week (equivalent to a 50% position)

ABOUT US
Austausch e.V. is a Berlin-based non-governmental organization that has been implementing projects with partners from Eastern Europe, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia since 1992 — in the fields of education, human rights, youth, environment, and media. We collaborate with NGOs, state institutions, and experts in our target regions and see ourselves as bridge-builders between civil societies.

YOUR TASKS
• Support for system administration (Linux and Windows-based systems)
• Participation in hardware management and workplace infrastructure support
• Maintenance and development of relational database systems
• Support for web-based IT infrastructure (e.g., WordPress)
• Administration of Microsoft systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune)
• Involvement in IT security and data protection issues – especially in handling sensitive personal data
• Documentation and structuring of technical processes
• General IT support for the team (first-level support)

WHAT YOU BRING
• Current enrollment at a German university (proof required)
• IT affinity and initial practical experience in system administration or database maintenance
• Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows systems
• Interest in IT and data security topics
• Reliability, accuracy, and solution-oriented working style
• Team spirit, strong communication skills, and willingness to work in the office
• Desirable but not required: initial experience with Microsoft backends (e.g., SharePoint or Intune)
