Volunteering in St. Petersburg, Russia

The DRA acts as a sending organization to the German-Russian Exchange (Nemezko-Russkij Obmen/NRO) in St. Peterburg, Russia. 

German-Russian Exchange /GRE is a non-governmental organisation based in St. Petersburg, Russia. For over 27 years, it has been supporting civic initiatives and initiatives through international cooperation by organising study trips, youth and professional exchanges, workshops, seminars and public events. Every year GRE hosts 2 volunteers who get a unique chance to explore the Russian civil society and to develop their competencies in this sphere. The volunteers will become a full member of the team and get an opportunity to implement their vision and own ideas. They will acquire knowledge in the fields of communication, event management, PR and the use of media. Volunteers also help to organise international projects and events, promote European Solidarity Corps opportunities among young people in Russia, develop social networks, organise and moderate a speaking club, and work on administrative tasks.

Project period: 01/10/2020 – 30/09/2021. Starting date could be shifted due of the COVID-19 pandemic.


Volunteering at the DRA in Berlin

The DRA also hosts volunteers at its office in Berlin.

Currently we are looking for 2 volunteers for 12 months to support our activities starting from November 1, 2020 with 35 hours per week.

Your Profile:

  • 18-30 years old;
  • commitment to the principles and values of volunteering;
  • previous civic engagement is a benefit;
  • motivation to support NGO-activities;
  • willingness to engage in various projects and thematic fields;
  • willingness to fulfil administrative tasks;
  • curiosity and proactiveness;
  • German language skills would be a benefit.

Allowances provided are:

  • a monthly food allowance of 258 €;
  • a monthly pocket money allowance of 152 €;
  • coverage of travel expenses of up to 820 € for travel distances between 4000 and 7999 km; up to 530 € for travel distances between 3000 and 3999 km; up to 360 € for travel distances between 2000 and 2999 km; up to 275 € for travel distances between 500 and 1999 km;
  • health insurance CIGNA;
  • coverage of the public transport costs – monthly ticket;
  • coverage of the rent costs.
