Inclusion is not just a promise \u2014 it\u2019s a reality in the making. The INKuLtur programme team had the honour of participating in the Global Disability Summit 2025, which took place on April 2\u20133 in Berlin. This landmark gathering was co-hosted by the International Disability Alliance (IDA), the Government of Germany, and the Government of Jordan, and brought together more than 3,000 influential voices from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attendees included representatives from governments, organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), international institutions, civil society, the private sector, and academia \u2014 all united in a common mission: to advance disability rights and foster stronger global collaboration to ensure that the 1.3 billion persons with disabilities worldwide are not left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most significant outcomes of the summit was the adoption of the Amman-Berlin Declaration on Global Disability Inclusion \u2014 a powerful, collective commitment to driving disability-inclusive development on a global scale. Additionally, the summit marked the launch of the Resilient and Inclusive Cities Hub (RICH), an innovative initiative aimed at building accessible, inclusive urban environments that serve everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our involvement in this global dialogue has further strengthened our commitment to disability inclusion. We continue to advocate for policies and practices that protect the rights, dignity, and full participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together, we can create lasting change and build a world where accessibility and inclusion are the norm \u2014 not the exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
